By combining internal cow measurements using bolus technology with artificial intelligence, TruAdvice® provides the first-ever disease indication notifications with probability indications for common dairy cow illnesses such as mastitis.

With the goal of driving long-term positive change in the dairy industry and further expanding our technological lead, Stefan Scherer took over management of the company alongside founder Stefan Rosenkranz in early 2020. The introduction of TruRumi® in 2020 added another unique parameter to our cow monitoring system: rumination activity. Thanks to direct measurement in the reticulum, smaXtec provides rumination data with the highest precision, allowing for even better decision-making in health, feeding, heat detection, and calving.

In 2016, the commercial sale of our products began, marking the start of the most comprehensive health monitoring system for dairy operations of all sizes. But this was just the beginning of our success story.
From research
to progress
Founded as a research project in 2009, smaXtec is now the global market leader in its field. We recognised that the rumen is not only useful for measuring pH levels but also provides unique and valuable data for dairy farmers, such as internal body temperature and activity.
Curiosity turns
into novelty
The idea for smaXtec was born in 2006 from the curiosity of two engineers who stumbled upon a problem in dairy farming: rumen pH measurement is highly valuable for research and improving dairy farming but could previously only be done with great difficulty and for a few cows. Founders Stefan Rosenkranz and Mario Fallast quickly realised that there had to be a better solution. As pioneers, they started developing sensors that continuously and long-term collect data inside the cow – with great success!
