Data from within
The bolus continuously measures important health data directly in the reticulum, exactly where health-related changes first appear.
The smaXtec bolus captures data from inside the reticulum, helping you spot issues early and manage your herd proactively.
The smaXtec Classic Bolus continuously measures each cow’s internal body temperature, water intake & drinking cycles, rumination via motility, and activity. The smaXtec pH Bolus measures pH, in addition to the other parameters, helping you understand how feeding strategies affect the rumen environment. Positioned in the reticulum, the boluses measure the first signs of health changes, often days before clinical symptoms appear. Once administered, the maintenance-free boluses continuously provide individual-animal data. Over-the-air updates keep the boluses up to date, even after they are administered so they always have the latest software. And that includes a lifetime bolus guarantee.
The smaXtec Base Station automatically reads the data measured by the boluses and transfers it to the smaXtec TruD® Cloud via its built-in SIM card. Simply plug the Base Station into a power outlet to get started, no additional internet required. Flexible configuration options allow the system to adapt to farms of all sizes and housing systems. This ensures you have fast and reliable access to your herd data 24/7.
The smaXtec Climate Sensor measures outdoor temperature, humidity, and air pressure in the barn and automatically calculates the Temperature-Humidity Index (THI). If the risk of heat stress increases, you’ll receive a notification and can respond if needed.

By harnessing the power of bolus technology, your team can connect precise insights to proactive management.
The bolus continuously measures important health data directly in the reticulum, exactly where health-related changes first appear.
The Base Station automatically reads the bolus data and transfers it to the smaXtec Cloud via its built-in internet connection.
Flexible orientation options and additional Base Stations ensure smaXtec is a fit for both small and large farms.
Changes in internal body temperature are the earliest signs of emerging health challenges, giving you the opportunity to step in early and limit disease progression.
The Climate Sensor records temperature, humidity and air pressure and automatically calculates the THI.
