Cows on the farm

HealthThe gold standard for healthy herds.

Internal body temperature provides the earliest possible indication of health-related changes and forms the basis for preventive health management.

The power of prevention starts inside the cow.

Internal body temperature is the earliest parameter for health-related changes and the gold standard for precise, preventive health management. Combined with additional health data, it creates a comprehensive picture.

smaXtec identifies health-related changes as early as the first immune response, long before changes in feeding or rumination behavior appear. This allows you to check cows showing unusual signs, investigate possible causes, and take preventive action. Your smaXtec advisor is always available to support you.

The gold standard: internal body temperature

Internal body temperature is the foundation of preventive health management. A change in body temperature is usually the first sign of an immune response, providing the earliest indication of a possible disease. smaXtec is the only system that measures internal body temperature directly in the reticulum. The measurement is continuous, with a relative accuracy of ±0.018 °F.

Data from the inside

The smaXtec bolus is located in the cow’s reticulum and continuously measures internal body temperature, water intake and drinking cycles, rumination, and activity. The smaXtec pH bolus measures pH in addition to the other parameters. The data is automatically transferred to the smaXtec Cloud, analyzed there and displayed clearly in the smaXtec software. Unlike collars or ear tags, smaXtec measures directly inside the cow, where important physiological changes become visible first.

A shared foundation

smaXtec continuously shows each cow’s individual disease progression and displays how she responds to treatments and protocols. Your team and external advisors, like your veterinarian, can assess the progression, adjust treatments more precisely, and objectively identify what actually works on your farm. This turns trial and error into a data-based approach, individualized for every cow and every farm.
