Assess the impact of feeding
The Feeding Tool shows how feed changes, feed quality and management affect your herd at the individual cow and group level.
24/7 internal rumination and pH measurements show what is happening in the rumen, guiding tailored rations and strong performance.
With smaXtec, continuous data measured directly in the reticulum shows you how your feeding strategy affects your cows and where hidden potential lies.
The Feeding Tool uses continuously measured rumination to show how individual cows and feeding groups respond to feed changes, feed heating, feed quality or changes in the feeding routine. This makes unusual patterns visible early and allows you to investigate possible causes such as changed dry matter content, pushing up feed too infrequently or unrest in the group.
The smaXtec pH bolus complements the Feeding Tool with a direct view of the rumen environment. It continuously measures pH in the reticulum and shows how your ration works from inside the cow. This allows you to assess the composition of your ration objectively, detect risks such as subacute ruminal acidosis at an early stage and plan adjustments together with your nutritionist. This creates the basis for more efficient feeding, healthier cows and higher milk yield.
Fixed feeding times, consistent routines and regularly pushed-up feed support consistent feed intake. Even the smallest day-to-day changes can affect rumination and pH. The Feeding Tool and pH Dashboard make these changes visible. This helps you identify possible feeding errors and optimize your management in a targeted way.

“The pH bolus from smaXtec is really improving our feed game. It shows us how our feed program operates right now and what we could change for the future.”
Amber Horn-Leiterman US, Wisconsin, 2100 cows

“Together we identify trends in the data and discuss the possible dietary interventions or changes in feed management that could help improve certain areas.”
Louisa Koch Feeding and pH Specialist at smaXtec

“smaXtec helped us identify a TMR mixer protocol that wasn’t in the right order. Understanding what was happening to the cows rumination helped level off any imbalances and bring them back on line.”
Adam Hurtgen US, Wisconsin, 160 cows
Only smaXtec measures rumination and optional pH directly inside the cow.
The Feeding Tool shows how feed changes, feed quality and management affect your herd at the individual cow and group level.
The pH bolus measures the impact of rations. pH data shows how rations and feeding management influence the rumen environment.
Your smaXtec Dairy Management Advisor helps you and your nutritionist outline processes for your ration and feeding management.
Data measured from the inside shows how your ration works and where potential lies. This helps you improve feeding and increase milk yield.
